I have bought the fortress everest mittens, the fortress gloves with fingers, but I like these mittens the most because they have 1" thick very warm aris insulation on the back of the hand and just as thick of padding on the palm and the insulation padding also covers my wrist very well and I use a protective over mitten to keep the mittens in so I can work all I want without ever damaging the mittens.
The manufacturer made some big mistakes on the wrist tighteners though. The wrist tighteners are supposed to be made out of shock cord, not paracord. And the shock cord locks are supposed to be attached to the mitten so when you pull on the shock cord the cord locks are supposed to stay beside the mitten while you pull on the shock cord in order to tighten up the shock cord around your wrist.
It's a big mistake and hopefully fortress will correct that mistake. But other then that these mittens are great. But I wouldn't like them as much without my protective outer mitten to keep the mittens from being damaged while I work.
Edit: I bought another pair of gloves to use for parts and I replaced the paracord with shock cord and now they have the exact same tensioner around the forearm as the fortress fingered gloves do. And now they can be tightened up around my forearm to keep even more heat inside.
These are really awesome mittens now.
