I am a tech scuba diver/instructor in CA and tested the BasePro Crew top and pants under my drysuit. I stayed VERY warm and comfortable! I was worried about it being too positively buoyant but I only added 1 extra pound of weight for the top and bottom. I plan on trying it under my 7mm wetsuit next week! My next acquisition will be the Fortress socks to wear under my drysuit. If you are a drysuit diver, this is worth trying out!

This works great as a base layer under a motorcycle jacket with armor and liner. Since there is no zipper the neck feels good under the jacket/liner collar. Also since the BasePro Crew doesn’t have padding in the arms, my arms fit easily into a an armored jacket with a liner. The material is really comfortable, and the insulation keeps my core really nice and warm without an electric vest. This has a very wide comfort range so I don’t have to stop and add/remove layers like I did with previous combinations. I’ve started in the morning at 35 degrees, and it still feels great when it warms to 70 in the afternoon. This is so comfortable I just wear it around the house on winter evenings as well. Keep in mind this is intended as a base layer–so it is a snug fit.

36° and raining, I was neither hot or cold while cycling, seems perfect to me. I don’t like that the arms are not insulated very well. My arms were cold.
I did have a rain shell on which blocked the wind and wet. I ordered arm warmers from a bicycle store to wear under this shirt, hoping it will keep me warmer. I don’t know how it would be at 15°, I think the body would be fine though, just not the arms..
