Base layer is fantastic when layering another layer and your are absolutely not getting cold when out in extremely cold weather/wind.
You could wear the base layer around house and stay warm with any heat setting! With every penny. I have the jacket too, same cold weather protection provided. Excellent long term investment to enjoy outside cold activities

My jacket seems great, True to size and looks good on me. Its still a bit warm here to wear it, but Im looking forward to wearing all of the products I purchased here.

I was gifted the Shadow for Christmas after spending probably the past year debating getting a Fortress jacket. I am SO glad I finally have one and I wish I had gotten one sooner. I can walk the dog on a frozen day and be comfortable now - and even just tried out the first snowstorm with it and honestly forgot it was snowing I was so comfortable. If you've been thinking about Fortress WOW it is worth it. I love that I don’t need 8 layers to stay warm and still have full movement since the coat is not bulky. The Fortress team has also been so great with any questions I have had about sizing...this is worth the investment without a doubt.

This jacket surprised me. It is exceptionally lightweight, but will still keep you warm in a wide range of temperatures without overheating or freezing. I used this during the day when it was slightly chilly and stayed comfortable temperature the whole time. I went out later at night for a couple hours as temperatures went to freezing and I still felt the same temp. It can be packed into tight spaces.

So you know this is a real review I will give a con. I took it camping and it took several washes to get that campfire smell out of the jacket. Something about the material really clings to smoke. That said it was only a minor inconvenience and I'd definitely buy it again.
