About our brand

"With Fortress, you can wear less layers of clothing, and have less weight with a more dynamic temperature range. You can go from it being 50 degrees and jump into frozen Arctic water and have it be 20 degrees or 30 degrees outside and still feel comfortable.
-- Outdoor Media Company Owner

Testimonial

"The Fortress base layer was a game-changer. It allowed us to film on days that we normally wouldn't have been able to and we could stay out in the cold longer than the camera equipment could handle. That's when I was really sold on it. The battery life in our camera gear couldn’t keep up with Fortress. This is next-level stuff."

No Cold Chills!

"With other clothing, if you exert yourself at all and start sweating, you get cold. Fortress is incredibly unique. When you get wet, you stay warm.”
-- Outdoor Enthusiast

Testimonials

★★★★★

"I get tired of putting layers on and taking them off again. Fortress is
insulating and breathable at the same time, so it keeps you comfortable at a
wider range of temperatures -- even if you're exerting yourself and sweating
in the cold."

Fortress
Mt. Pleasant Ut
★★★★★

All of the planning, preparation and time it takes to play outdoors is totally worth
it – except when someone gets cold and you have to call it a day. Staying
warm, even when you’re soaking wet, allows you to continue to hunt, fish, camp and ride without having to sacrifice safety.

★★★★★

"You can think better when you're warm and not shivering and shaking. I've been
out in midwinter -- particularly in directing traffic. You focus a lot on
being cold instead of doing your job. Anytime you're distracted, you're more
prone to making mistakes or overlooking something that's important. I hated
being cold."
-- Police Officer James

Fortress
Mt. Pleasant Ut
★★★★★

"Fortress Clothing allows me to exert myself in the wilderness and sweat in the winter
time months, and not be concerned that I'm going to die of hypothermia,
versus cotton or any other type of material out there. Fortress Clothing
allows you to mitigate your body moisture, because even when it's wet, it
still heats me up, and I haven't found anything else that can even come
close."

Fantastic winter gear

So, this review took me a while to get to because I wanted to give it a real test run before I said anything. Well, spending the day shoveling 4 feet of snow off a roof in -7 Temps definitely counts as a test. I had the crew and the pants on, plus a Hoodie and cargo pants on over the base layer. I never once got cold or stiff. It was hot enough that I started to sweat, yet when I went inside for my breaks I didn't feel over heated. The clothes themselves are extremely comfortable and don't limit the range of motion at all. Having got this gear for winters in Alaska, I can honest say that I highly recommend them. They were worth every single penny I spent. So buy with relative confidence, with the endorsement of a random guy on the internet. But seriously, these are worth it. Best winter gear I have ever owned.

Soft!

These Fortress base layers are amazingly soft and comfortable! They are far superior in comfort in our opinion to the military ecwcs layering system. Plus with Fortress you have less layers vs ecwcs. Also with Fortress you can get soaked wet and still get warm. However with ecwcs primaloft soaked wet...uh oh your in trouble. (same with goose down) We have not tested these yet in the cold, but we remember when we first tried on the ecwcs system before we tested it in the cold. (and the ecwcs works well in the cold) The fortress feels way better in temperature regulation thus far pre cold test vs the ecwcs pre cold test. I have every confidence Fortress will blow away ecwcs in the cold with less layers and more comfort. That’s why we bought the whole family not only one set each of these base pros, but 2 sets! Did I say they are comfortable oh my!

BasePro Crew Camp PJ's

I am a 60 something gal that just loves camping... So Much! All year long and I really love winter camping. I am a Hammock camper with a tarp and the Fortress BasePro Crew and Pant make my winter hammock camping possible. I wear a light outer layer over them while working around camp but come sleep time they are super comfy for PJ's. When you are up moving and working I love that I don't get sweaty and hot in them and then they keep me warm too while sleeping in the 40's with a sleeping bag. As an older woman sleeping in the 30's I do need one more layer to stay toasty in my crapy sleeping bag and hammock. I called Fortress to ask questions on how to wear their clothing and they were so helpful explaining to me why in the 30's and sleeping I still got chilly and how to layer up for sleeping. Fantastic company and I hope to have Everything they sell someday. I also backcountry snowmobile with a monosuit and can't wait for Next winter using the Fortress BasePro as my under layer. It will be perfect! Fantastic customer service! Great product! So Comfortable!
Happy Camper,
Vickie

Even Better Than Expected!

I received my Fortress BasePro Crew over a month ago and just now got to test it out for the first time on a deep powder snowmobile ride. I usually get cold quick, so I dressed warm and wore a smartwool hoody over the BasePro Crew. Shortly into the ride I had to take the hoody off. The BasePro crew, combined with my Goretex shell worked amazing. I was the most comfortable I’ve ever felt sledding. Sweat had no impact on feeling warm and comfy. I often change layers 2 to 3 times on every ride, not this time. I’m super happy with this purchase and will recommend it to all my friends.
