Saw the base layer and coat at an Outdoor Show in Denver just before leaving on a trip to Iceland in January. Could not pack much and sales guy convinced me I could leave my base layers at home and my bulky parka and be warm and dry the whole trip. Shipped to my house in two days and off I went. I figured I would buy some base layers if it didn't work out. Turns out the sales guy was totally solid!! I was so warm and dry out hiking on the glaciers, ice caving, and even whale watching on the boats during a super windy rainy trip when everyone else was shivering inside. Its not bulky at all and packs so light! Even when it was snowing and raining I truly did not notice being cold. I'm ALWAYS cold per my husband and even he remarked I did not complain once about being cold the whole trip. Its the best investment I have ever made!!

Really soft like u walking on a cloud and nothing is warmer than these, might need alittle extra space for the shoe or boot but it contours to the sneaker or what ever I brought 3 pairs

Not only does it look great it's super warm and wind resistant, I took it on a boat cruise in nyc 20 degrees and on a boat and felt no cold what so ever love it

Always skeptical about those little calculators that tell you what size to order based on weight, height and age, but I followed their recommendation and it was perfect. Jacket is amazing. Very warm and wind proof. Nebraska is 19 today and I was warm without being hot. Love it so far. Great price too!

Best base layer I’ve ever bought.. Very happy with it. Used it recently to go snowboarding and it felt great; light and comfortable. I used it under a light running windbreaker and it worked great. I was warm and dry the entire time. Temp at the mountain was between 15F and 40F, and at times, under the sun, I even opened the wind breaker and base layer zipper to cool down.. can’t wait to teste it in colder weather.
I am 6”1’, 205lb, and the size L fit perfectly, not too tight and not too loose. It’s not too thick or puffy, so no trouble wearing sporty fit wind breaking layers on top.

I have a 1/4 zip, which is a lot easier to put on than the regular base pro. This is much easier to put off and on. When I’m going to wear it for hours, it doesn’t matter, but for shorter periods of use it’s a great feature. It might not be as warm, but I’ll find out. And it fits great!
-FYI I’ve used my 1/4 zip on an open SARS boat in - temps and it is awesome! It is pretty beat up, but still keeps me warm. I’ll use it until it falls apart! I have a 2 vests too. I’m a fan of this gear for sure.

I have the old insulated Cabelas bibs and parka, purchased years before Fortress clothing was available. It's well insulated, but Fortress is a new standard in insulation. I have the base layer, gloves, balaclava and insert for pack boots. I can wear lighter outer ware, so total weight is reduced. I wish I could justify 2 sets of cold weather gear. I am sure the Fortress gear would be lighter, and warmer.

Love this coat! Wore it skiing with only a sweat wicking shirt underneath. Kept me toasty on the chairlifts and vented well on the slopes. Thinking about trying out the hybrid hoodie next for when it isn’t quite so cold out.

Wanted an extra warm and dry layer for a winter trip to Alaska. It did the trick and I was extremely comfortable and not overly sweaty.

Yet another fantastic underlayer. I have heavily used the original pull-over BasePro top for several seasons. The full-zip version is perfect for additional layering options...fantastic for the widely varying conditions this year!

I purchased this because I get cold easily and I wanted a good layer for under my jacket for skiing. It definitely was warmer than my 2 wool shirts

I picked up a pair of these last month at the Denver International Sportsmens Expo. I have a few other Fortress items and I am extremely happy! I highly recommend them! Gloves are very warm! Fortress is exactly what you need!

I wish I had this equipment when I was in the service. Although the equipment now issued to our troops have come a long way, Fortress far surpasses anything I had been issued in the 22 years of service in the U.S. Army Special Forces.
Phenomenal gear.

I love the new BasePro Pants 2.0. They are made from a much softer, quieter material, but still just as warm as the original! Great improvement on a Great product!

Unlike the base layer with a half zipper this base layer is easy to put on and works well.
